Role: Monday - Friday - 6am - 3pm
Are you a proactive problem solver who thrives at the heart of manufacturing operations?
As our Production Controller, you will be the central operational engine of our shop floor. Working shoulder-to-shoulder with Production Supervisors, Team Leads and cross-functional departments, you will drive real-time coordination, streamline material flow and tackle live operational bottlenecks head-on.
If you are passionate about keeping lines running smoothly, bridging communication gaps across teams and keeping live execution tightly aligned with master schedules, this is the role for you.
The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Live Problem Solving & Floor Coordination
- Primary Triage: Step in as the go-to problem solver when shop-floor teams hit cross-departmental road-blocks.
- Rapid Response: Swiftly convene specialists across Quality, Engineering, Warehousing, and Maintenance to resolve line stoppages, material shortages, and quality holds in real time.
- Keep Lines Moving: Work alongside floor leads to establish immediate workarounds that maintain operational flow and safeguard delivery schedules.
- Continuous Improvement: Accurately log downtime root causes to help leadership implement permanent, long-term operational fixes.
Operations & Planning Support
- Central Hub: Serve as the connective tissue between Production, Quality, Logistics, and Warehousing to keep daily shift execution fully synchronised.
- Insights: Act as the "eyes and ears" on the floor for the Planning Manager, delivering live feedback on capacity, constraints, and progress.
- Shift Alignment: Participate in daily stand-ups with shift leads to review targets, check floor readiness, and track schedule execution
- Business Continuity: Provide short-term cover for core production planning duties during team absences.
System Tracking & Real-Time Monitoring
- Track Operational Health: Actively monitor shift outputs, machine performance, and material movements using control platforms (e.g., Microsoft Business Central).
- Data Integrity: Maintain accurate, up-to-the-minute data across MES tools to ensure clear visibility for executive leadership.
- Shift Reporting: Generate clear daily shift summaries detailing outputs, downtime analysis, and compliance metrics.
Material & Process Synchronisation
- Supply Line Continuity: Partner closely with Warehousing and Inventory teams to ensure kitting and parts arrive line-side on schedule.
- Quality Flow: Work with Quality teams to speed up inline inspections and line clearances, preventing floor congestion.
- Pace & Rhythm: Keep floor activities aligned with established takt times, cycle targets, and process standards.
